Welding codes and structural building requirements are becoming increasingly stringent, and Keen is prepared to introduce new products to adapt to the changing needs of today's welders. The high temperature KT-15HT was specifically designed to accommodate welders that are required to preheat welding electrodes to 500F out of factory packaging. Part of the KT-15 series of portable electrode ovens, the KT-15HT model is capable of reaching 550F (the other KT-15 models are preset to reach 275F-300F).

This lightweight oven is designed to protect electrodes from atmospheric moisture which is readily picked up by the hygroscopic coating in low hydrogen electrodes. It can be used at the higher temperature and then brought down to 275F for regular storage. The KT-15HT is light and easy to carry and the square shape gives the ovens greater stability vertically or horizontally. It is equipped with an "on" indicating light, fixed power cord and rod elevator for raising and removing the electrodes.
