While this unit is unheated and intended for ambient, dry storage (not moisture removal or holding), its rugged construction helps maintain the integrity of hermetically sealed materials before they are moved to a heated holding oven or the job site. Recommended Ambient Storage Conditions
- Temperature: Maintain a temperature between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (30°C). Avoid extreme temperature swings to prevent condensation, which is a major source of moisture absorption.
- Relative Humidity: The relative humidity should be kept as low as possible, ideally below 60%. For more critical applications, a humidity level of less than 50% is preferred.
- Environment: The cabinet should be located in a clean area, protected from direct contact with water, rain, snow, or excessive shop dust and oil. It should be kept off the floor and away from walls to ensure good airflow.
Important Considerations for the KT-40NH

- TIG Filler Wire: Solid metal TIG filler rods are less susceptible to moisture than flux-coated products but still benefit from storage in a dry cabinet to prevent surface corrosion (rust). If the packaging is compromised, they should be inspected for rust or contamination before use.
