About Plug Fan Systems for
Keen Industrial Batch Ovens
Our forced-air convection batch ovens feature a custom-designed plug fan system that is manufactured by us at our factory. Aside from the motor itself, the systems are completely custom manufactured and are specifically designed for use on Keen industrial batch ovens.
The initial concept for a plug fan system begins during the industrial oven design phase. After receiving details about the heat-processing requirements from the customer, our engineers determine the batch oven cabinet size, amount of heat required, and if forced-air convection is required in order to heat the parts thoroughly and efficiently. If forced-air is indeed required, we then determine jointly with the customer if vertical or horizontal air flow is preferred for the application. The plug fan system is comprised of a motor, housing, shafts, plenum, fan and when in operation, the system is responsible for producing the forced convection air flow on Keen industrial ovens. Depending upon the customer’s application and the type of Keen industrial oven selected, the plug fan is mounted on the oven top (for vertical air flow) or on the back of the oven (for horizontal air flow) to optimize process efficiency and thorough heating of parts.
